Students outside of New Zealand
Q: Will I be charged an application fee by Immigration New Zealand if I have to apply for a Variation of Conditions/new visa because of the earthquake?
A: No – the fee for a variation of conditions will be waived.
Q: I have been issued a visa to attend an education provider in Christchurch and have not yet travelled to New Zealand. I want to travel to New Zealand once the education provider is operating again.
A: You may still use any visa you have been issued. We recommend that from Monday 28 February 2011, you try to make contact with your provider in Christchurch to see when they are likely to re-open.
Q: If I defer my travel plans, which results in requiring a new visa with amended travel dates, do I have to pay the application fee and/or complete a new application form, provide evidence of funds and passport details?
A: You will not be required to pay a new fee and we will use your previous application form.
Q: I have had a visa issued to attend an education provider in Christchurch but have not yet travelled to New Zealand. I want to change the location of my study, but remain with the same provider (i.e a different campus).

A: Since 7 February if you were lawfully in New Zealand when you lodged your student application in Christchurch branch, and your visa is expiring/has expired, you will be automatically issued an interim student visa valid for six months, or until your substantive student visa applications had been decided - whatever date is earlier.

The interim student visa has the same conditions as 'open' student visa. This means you may undertake any course of study in New Zealand. The interim letter will be emailed to you if we have an email address, or if not then a letter will be sent. Given the disruption to mail services in Christchurch this may take some time to arrive. Q: I am a full fee paying international student and have an application lodged at the Palmerston North branch to attend an education provider in Christchurch. I want to change providers and move to another location.

2010年中秋联欢会
又是一年彩云追月，桂花飘香的季节，在新西兰的天空下，我们这些海外学子喜迎中国传统节日“中秋节”。
9月24日，在中国大使馆的关心支持下，由林肯学联举办了以“团圆庆中秋”为主题的中秋联欢会，在这里，林肯华人师生，还有新西兰商学院的一些同学共聚一堂，欢度中秋。使馆教育处王胜刚老师也专门从惠灵顿赶到现场，与我们如似一家人，其乐融融。新西兰商学院的何校长热心此次活动，对活动给予了大量帮助，并提供了月饼。惠灵顿学生学者联谊会、维多利亚大学中国学生会、梅西大学中国学生会也给林肯的华人师生发来了慰问信，让我们远在大洋彼岸仍能处处感受到华人的温暖。
接着进行了“团圆庆中秋”为主题的分组游戏活动。围绕着这个主题进行3小游戏。
第一个游戏：“鞭炮声声庆中秋”，各组队员从起点背靠背夹住一个气球跑到终点，并在终点处夹爆气球。当所有小队都夹爆气球之后，所有组员要一起大喊“中秋快乐”。这个游戏是考验每组成员的团结协作能力的，也体现了的主题中的团字。
第二个游戏：每组都会分到10张白纸，正反面都可以用，还有5只笔。 每组成员要在3分钟之内在白纸上画出尽可能多的月饼，不能借助任何工具，咱们的这个月饼也是有要求的，要有杯口大小，一定要圆。这个游戏给大家一个机会，亲自动手来体验中秋的圆满。
第三个游戏：“中秋知识竞答”，提出15道与中秋有关的题目，每道题目答对加10分，答错扣10分，各组将答案写在纸上，最后由评委收回来统计各组的得分。这个游戏考验的是大家对祖国的传统文化和历史的了解，同时也增进了大家对祖国悠久文化和历史了解。
林肯中秋联欢会还举行了抽奖活动以及颁奖活动。颁奖活动主要针对那些积极参与活动策划的同学，鼓励同学们参与活动的积极性，凝聚和团结大家。林肯学联这次中秋联欢晚会同学们积极参与，活动中大家欢声笑语，其乐融融。
联欢会的成功，体现了我们留学生对生活的热爱，标志着我们正在逐步走向成熟，我们大家都为一个共同的目标，健康和快乐走到一起，我们要珍惜这份友谊和情谊。而且此次联欢会还充分让同学们体会到了祖国对我们留学生的关心和爱护。使得同学们真正体会到了虽然我们求学异乡，但祖国永远是他们心灵的归属地。
我们期待明年会更好，一切都在感谢中……

第一个游戏：“鞭炮声声庆中秋”，各组队员从起点背靠背夹住一个气球跑到终点，并在终点处夹爆气球。当所有小队都夹爆气球之后，所有组员要一起大喊“中秋快乐”。这个游戏是考验每组成员的团结协作能力的，也体现了的主题中的团字。
第二个游戏：每组都会分到10张白纸，正反面都可以用，还有5只笔。 每组成员要在3分钟之内在白纸上画出尽可能多的月饼，不能借助任何工具，咱们的这个月饼也是有要求的，要有杯口大小，一定要圆。这个游戏给大家一个机会，亲自动手来体验中秋的圆满。
第三个游戏：“中秋知识竞答”，提出15道与中秋有关的题目，每道题目答对加10分，答错扣10分，各组将答案写在纸上，最后由评委收回来统计各组的得分。这个游戏考验的是大家对祖国的传统文化和历史的了解，同时也增进了大家对祖国悠久文化和历史了解。
林肯中秋联欢会还举行了抽奖活动以及颁奖活动。颁奖活动主要针对那些积极参与活动策划的同学，鼓励同学们参与活动的积极性，凝聚和团结大家。林肯学联这次中秋联欢晚会同学们积极参与，活动中大家欢声笑语，其乐融融。
联欢会的成功，体现了我们留学生对生活的热爱，标志着我们正在逐步走向成熟，我们大家都为一个共同的目标，健康和快乐走到一起，我们要珍惜这份友谊和情谊。而且此次联欢会还充分让同学们体会到了祖国对我们留学生的关心和爱护。使得同学们真正体会到了虽然我们求学异乡，但祖国永远是他们心灵的归属地。
我们期待明年会更好，一切都在感谢中……

派发地震救急用品
基督城在遭受9月4日强震之后，余震不断。在使馆教育处王老师和乔老师的大力支持下，为充分应对地震所带来的紧急情况，林肯学联为华人师生顺利开展了发放救急用品活动。
学联准备了地震紧急救急小包裹，包括止痛药,创口贴,绷带,手电筒,水,地震注意事项的小手册等，于9月15日中午11:30-12:30在学校的LUSA Club Meeting Room 给会员进行发放。大部分学员在当天领取了救急用品。部分因有事未能在15日领取的学员,在16日、17日从学校读书馆AMANDA处领取了急救用品。学联还告知大家，个别没有领取的会员可以发信和LUCA 联系，也可以在中秋晚会上给华人师生继续发放，以此保证大家人手一个紧急救急小包裹。

庆祝2010年春节
在虎年春节即将来临之际，新西兰林肯大学华人协会的会员们，饱含着对祖国的思念之情，对同胞的关爱友善之意，同时，也是为了自己能够度过一个欢乐而又有意义的春节。来自林肯大学的华人老师和学生，以及访问学者们，怀着极大的热情，踏上了Arthor’s Pass National Park的登山之旅。
Arthor’s Pass National Park处于Christchurch通向西海岸的必经之路上，沿途风景秀美。且不论连绵的峰峦，多样的植物，即使是穿插其间的溪流，点缀其中的农场，就已经让人感叹不虚此行了。而在途中，更有一处被笼罩于薄雾之中，与阳光相映，山色氤氲，雾里看花，如临仙境，可惜的是忘记留下照片。
两个小时的行程之后，到达了目的地，一番休整准备之后，我们精神饱满地向第一个目标——Devils Punchbowl Falls进发。伴随着淙淙的水声，我们沿着一条蜿蜒的小路，一路向上。小路两旁是茂密的森林，山路崎岖，大家的兴致都很高，一路说说笑笑，走走停停，还合影留念。大概半个小时，就到了瀑布，迎着瀑布之中溅起水珠，感受着山谷之中吹拂的轻风，浑身都觉得放松了下来。大家和要好的朋友一起拍照、玩水，玩得不亦乐乎。最后，在瀑布面前，留下了合照，所有人都笑得很开心，很抒怀。
随后，我们返程，在停车的地方吃午餐。午餐是事先准备好的，蛋糕、果冻、面包、虾条、豆皮，还有饮料，都是大家爱吃的。为了能更多地和别人分享，每人都互相传递着手中的食物。
下个目的地需要8分钟的车程，在结束了午餐之后，又踏上了新的旅程。与Devils Punchbowl Falls不同的是，Otria Valley 都是低矮的灌木和草，行进之间都踏着大大小小的碎石，而景点则是在乱石之中川流而下的溪水。
整个活动的过程中，大家都兴致高昂，通过这次活动，进一步拉近了新西兰林肯大学华人协会的会员们的关系。同时，也非常感谢支持这次活动的教育部和中国大使馆的老师，也深深地感受到了来自祖国的关怀之意，更加坚定了认真学习并且报效祖国的决心。

2009 庆祝“建国60周年”和“中秋”联欢会
值此国庆和中秋来临之际，林肯大学华人联谊会于10月2日晚上在林肯大学的“Memorial Hall”举行了庆祝“建国60周年”和“中秋”联欢活动，60余人出席了本次联欢会。其中包括驻新西兰大使馆教育处乔老师，新西兰商学院的何董事长，基督城华人学生会的戴主席，坎特伯雷大学的高老师，以及来自林肯大学的华人学者，访问学者和留学生。
乔老师在讲话中向出席晚会的全体中国学者留学生和海外侨胞致以节日的问候和良好的祝愿。同时也给林肯学联带来一些有关 “中国建国60周年”纪念邮票和明信片。
联欢会上，顺利地完成2008届到2009届的学联交接工作。除此以外，全体成员开展了激烈的包饺子和“铁人三项”（包括吃月饼，喝汽水以及吹气球）竞赛游戏。晚会高潮迭起，会后各界与会人员纷纷表示："他们度过了一个难忘的，有价值的夜晚" -----正真地体会一次包饺子的制作全过程（发面，擀皮，包饺子以及煮饺子）。
